H3D ~ Fashion Design
I discovered my love for print when I attended Rugby College studying AVCE level of Art and Design. I have always had a passion for art in general from life drawing to collage, contemporary art to architecture, but what has always grabbed my attention is vibrant and exotic imagery and artworks, tribal art and skin markings, such as butterflies, birds, reptiles and any living creature that has beautiful spectrums of colourings and patterns.
I feel that every collection I come to design, vibrancy will be my signature.
After college I attended Northampton University and studied Fashion design and Textiles for Fashion, this is where I finally found my ‘mark’ and ‘fine- tuned’ my design work. I found a new passion for Photoshop where I transferred all my artworks into digital prints as with this technique I could get more of a complex piece, but also found that with digital print you can sometimes lose the tactile feel and depth of a print. So I always try to design prints that make the fabric come visually alive and 3D.
I graduated with my final collection, ‘In Deep’ in 2006, the collections concept was based on tropical fish and was shown at London GFW and Northampton catwalks.
I then did a teaching course at Rugby College and went on to work at Henley College, Coventry as a Fashion/Textiles Sessional Lecturer.
I am now currently travelling and being forever inspired!
